John Deere 4210 Periodic Maintenance

Every 10 Hours or Daily Inspection

Check motor oil level. If the engine oil level is low, fill in fresh oil.

Hydraulic/ransmission oil level checking procedure. If the hydraulic/transmission fluid is too low, add it.

Check air filter element. Replace with a new one if necessary.

Check engine coolant level. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine idling, steering, service brakes and hand brake. Repair any damage if necessary.

Oil And Filter Change

Every 200 Hours

Change engine oil. Recommended motor oil type - Plus-50, SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, 5W-40. API Service Category CK-4, CJ-4, CI-4 PLUS, CI-4, CH-4. Engine oil capacity: 3.8 L (1 gal). Check motor oil level after changing.

Replacing engine oil filter. Oil filter part number: M806419. Before replacing, remove dirt from the filter housing. When installation is complete, check the oil level. Add oil if it is low.

Replace hydraulic/transmission oil (eHydro). Recommended fluid type: Low Viscosity Hy-Gard, J20D. How much to add: Transmission and Hydraulic Capacity - 26 L (6.9 gal) for Hydrostatic Models. Check hydraulic/transmission oil level after changing.

Change suction side filter (eHydro). Part number - LVA11522.

Replacing hydraulic/transmission fluid filter (eHydro). Oil filter part number: LVA10419. When the filter is replaced, check the hydraulic/transmission fluid level. Add fluid if required.

Every 400 hours

Replace hydraulic/transmission oil (SyncShift). Recommended fluid type: Low Viscosity Hy-Gard, J20D. How much to add: Transmission and Hydraulic Capacity - 24 L (6.3 gal) for Gear Models. Check hydraulic/transmission oil level after changing.

Change suction side filter (SyncShift). Part number - LVA11522.

Replace hydraulic/transmission filter (SyncShift). Part number of filter element - AM102723. Check the hydraulic/transmission oil level after installing a new filter element. If after checking the hydraulic oil level is low, add it.

Every 500 Hours

Replace diesel fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: M801101. Check diesel fuel pump settings.

Change front axle lubricant. Front Axle Capacity - 4.5 L (1.19 gal). Front axle oil - Low Viscosity Hy-Gard.

Check engine primary air filter elements. Change if necessary. Air filter part number - M131802.

Inspect engine secondary air filter element. Replace as required. Part number - M131803.

Change filter and engine oil. Check and clean the lubrication system.

Install a new air cleaner elements.

Install a new transmission/hydraulic filter.

Install a new suction side filter and fill with fresh transmission/hydraulic oil.

Drain water from fuel tank, then replace the fuel filter.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Flush the cooling system and refill with new coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 5.3 L (1.4 gal).

Inspect all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check battery charging.

Check engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust fuel injection nozzle.
