John Deere 6230 Maintenance Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily Inspection

Engine oil level checking. If the engine oil level is low, fill in fresh oil.

Check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level. If the transmission fluid is too low, fill the required volume.

Check engine air filter elements. Replace if required.

Check engine coolant level. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check idle engine speed, steering unit, parking brake and service brakes. Repair any malfunctions if necessary.

Oil and Filter Change

Every 500 hours

Change engine oil. Recommended oil type - Plus-50, SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, 5W-30. API Service Category CJ-4, CI-4, CH-4. How much to pour - 16 L (4.2 gal). After installing a new filter, check that the engine oil level is correct.

Replacing engine oil filter. Filter part number - RE504836. When changing the filter, clean the dirt inside the filter housing. After installing a new filter, check the oil level. If necessary, add it.

Replace cab activated carbon filter. Never clean. Part number - L209778.

Engine fuel filter elements change. Engine primary fuel filter part number: RE546336. Engine final fuel filter part number: RE526557. Check the efficiency of fuel injection pump.

Every 750 hours

Changing transmission fluid filter and filter element. Oil filter part number: AL156625. Oil filter element part number: AL206482. When the filter is replaced, check the hydraulic/transmission fluid level. If after checking the transmission oil level is low, add it.

Replace hydraulic filter. Part number of hydraulic filter element - AL169573. Check the hydraulic/transmission oil level after installing a new filter element. If after checking the hydraulic oil level is low, add it.

Change front pto oil filter. Part number - L114404.

Every 1500 hours

Replace transmission/hydraulic fluid. Recommended oil - Transmission/hydraulic fluid: Hy-Gard, JDM J20C, JDM J20D. How much to pour - Transmission/hydraulic capacity: for 16F/16R PowrQuad Plus transmission - 49 L (12.9 gal), for 24F/24R PowrQuad Plus transmission - 50 L (13.2 gal), for AutoQuad Plus transmission - 50 L (13.2 gal), for IVT transmission - 60 L (15.9 gal). After filling, check the transmission oil level with a dipstick.

Change front axle lubricant. Front axle capacity: 6.5 L (1.7 gal).

Changing the oil at front PTO. Front PTO oil capacity: 3.5 L (0.9 gal).

Engine air filter elements replacement. Engine primary air filter part number: AL172780. Engine secondary air filter part number: AL150288.

Change cab fresh air filter. Cab air filter part number - AL177185 (Heavy-duty) / AL177184 (Standard).

Replace cab recirculation air filter. Part number - L155288 / L152026.

Replace transmission filter.

Replace hydraulic filter and add fresh oil to transmission/hydraulic system.

Drain water from fuel tank and change fuel filters.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Flush the cooling system and add fresh coolant. Cooling system capacity: 29 L (7.7 gal).

Check all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check battery charging.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust diesel injection pump.
