Massey Ferguson 384 Maintenance Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily Checking

Engine oil level checking. If the engine oil level is low, add fresh oil.

Transmission/hydraulic fluid level checking procedure. If the transmission/hydraulic fluid is too low, add it.

Check engine air primary/secondary filter elements. Replace if necessary.

Check the coolant level in cooling system. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine idling, steering system, parking brake and service brakes. If malfunctions are found, repair it.

Oil And Filter Change

Every 250 hours

Changing engine oil. Recommended oil type: SAE 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. API service classification SE, SF, CC, CD. Engine oil capacity: 7.5 qt (7.1 L). After replacing the engine oil, check the level with a dipstick.

Replacing engine oil filter. Filter part number - 1447048M2. When changing the filter, clean the dirt inside the filter housing. After replacing the filter, check the oil level. If required, add it.

Cab air filter checking. Clean as required. Cab air filter part number: 3302666M92/3405118M1.

Check engine primary air filter element. Service if necessary. Air filter part number - 3310358M1.

Inspect engine secondary air filter element. Clean as required. Part number - 3595519V2.

Replace hydraulic oil filter. Hydraulic filter element part number - 3530223M92. After replacing the filter, check the transmission/hydraulic oil level. If required, add it.

Every 500 Hours

Replace engine fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: 836218V92. Check diesel fuel pump performance.

Change cab air filter. Cab air filter part number: 3302666M92/3405118M1.

Every 1000 hours

Transmission/hydraulic fluid change. Recommended oil: Permatran 3, SAE 10W-30. How much to fill: Transmission/Hydraulic Oil Capacity - 8.7 gal (33 L), Final Drive - 3.7 qt (3.5 L). When the procedure is complete, check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level.

Changing steering filter element. Steering filter part number: 3300901M91. After replacing the filter, check the steering oil level. Add steering oil if it is low. Steering Oil Capacity - 1.6 qt (1.5 L). Steering Oil Type - Permatran.

Change front axle lubricant. Front Axle Oil Capacity - 3.7 qt (3.5 L).

Change filter and engine oil. Check and clean the lubrication system.

Install a new fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Replace cab air filter.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Flush the cooling system and add new coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 16.4 qt (15.5 L).

Check all hoses and clamps.

Check level of battery electrolyte.

Check engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust fuel injection nozzle.
