Massey Ferguson 1160 Service Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Check engine oil level. If the oil level is too low, add new oil.

Check transmission fluid level. When transmission oil is low, fill in new oil.

Checking air filter. Replace with a new one if necessary.

Check radiator coolant level. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check engine speed, steering system, service brakes and parking brake. Repair any malfunctions if necessary.

Every 50 Hours

Inspect tires and inflate if necessary.

Check the battery. Clean if required.

Check front axle oil level. Top up as necessary.

Check fluid level in the hydraulic tank. If necessary, add hydraulic fluid to the system.

Check tightness of wheel bolts and nuts.

Every 150 Hours

Change engine oil. Motor oil type: 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. How much to change: Engine Oil Capacity - 7.4 qt (7.0 L). Check motor oil level after changing.

Replace oil filter. Filter part number - 3707892M91. Flush the filter housing before the filter element replacement procedure. When the filter is replaced, check the oil level. If necessary, add oil.

Inspect and service engine air filters.

Lubricate rear and front axle hub bearings.

Every 300 hours

Replace fuel filter element. Fuel filter element part number: 3704982M1. Check diesel fuel pump adjustment.

Changing transmission/hydraulic oil. Recommended transmission/hydraulic fluid: Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. How much is needed: Oil Capacity - 7.7 gal (29.0 L). After completing the filling procedure, check transmission/hydraulic oil level.

Change transmission oil filter. Fluid filter part number - 3705450M91. When installation is complete, check the transmission fluid level. Add fluid if required.

Perform hydraulic filter replacement. Hydraulic filter element part number - 3705452M1 (Spin-on). After replacing the filter, check the hydraulic oil level. If after checking the hydraulic oil level is low, add it.

Replace steering filter element in steering system. Part number - 3705316M91. Change the oil. Steering Oil Capacity - 2.0 qt (1.9 L).

Clean the radiator with a brush if the fins are dirty.

Check and adjust the engine alternator/fan belt tension. Change the belt if worn.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 500 Hours

Changing engine primary air filter element. Air filter part number - 3705141M91.

Inspect and service engine secondary air filter. Replace as required. Part number - 3705142M91.

Check the coolant in cooling system. If coolant is low, top up.

Check engine idling. Adjust if necessary.

Check the hoses and tubes. Tighten as required.

Front axle oil change. Front Axle Oil Type - Permatran. Front Axle Oil Capacity - 6.9 qt (6.5 L).

Check brake adjustment.

Check battery electrolyte level.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust injector pump.
