Massey Ferguson 1180 Periodic Maintenance

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Motor oil level checking. If the oil level is too low, add new oil.

Check transmission oil level. When transmission oil is low, add recommended volume.

Engine air filter checking. Install a new filter element if necessary.

Check coolant level in radiator. If the coolant level is too low, add coolant in cooling system.

Check engine idle speed, steering unit, service brakes and hand brake. Repair any malfunctions if necessary.

Every 50 Hours

Checking the air pressure of tyres. Inflate if required.

Check the battery. Clean battery terminals if necessary.

Checking the oil in front axle. Fill as required.

Check hydraulic system fluid level. If necessary, add hydraulic fluid to the system.

Lubricate front and rear axle hub bearings.

Inspect tractor for loose nuts and bolts.

Every 250 hours

Replace engine oil. Recommended oil type - 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. Lubricating system capacity - 7.4 qt (7.0 L). After changing the oil, check the level with a dipstick.

Oil filter changing. Oil filter part number: 3707892M91. When replace the filter, flushing the housing is necessary. Check the oil level after installing a new filter. If necessary, add it.

Clean radiator fins if fins are dirty.

Inspect alternator/fan belt. Change if necessary.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 300 Hours

Transmission/hydraulic oil change. Transmission/hydraulic oil type - Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. How much to change: Transmission Oil Capacity - 8.5 gal (32 L). Fill with the new hydraulic/transmission fluid up to the upper notch on the dipstick.

Change transmission fluid filter. Fluid filter part number - 3705450M91. When installation is complete, check the transmission/hydraulic oil level. Add oil if required.

Perform hydraulic filter replacement. Part number of hydraulic filter element - 3705452M1 (Spin-on). After installation, checking the transmission/hydraulic fluid level is recommended. If necessary, add it.

Change diesel fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: 3706283M91 (Spin-on) or 3704982M1 (Element). Check the efficiency of injection pump.

Replace steering filter element and change the oil. Steering Oil Type - Permatran. Steering Oil Capacity - 2.0 qt (1.9 L).

Every 500 Hours

Change engine primary air filter. Engine air filter part number: 3705141M91.

Check the engine secondary air filter and change if required. Part number: 3705142M91.

Check radiator coolant. Top up if required.

Check engine idling. If necessary, adjust the engine idle speed.

Check the hoses and tubes. Tighten as recommended.

Change front axle fluid. Front Axle Oil - Permatran. Front Axle Oil Capacity - 7.4 qt (7.0 L).

Check brake adjustment.

Change engine oil and filter. Check and clean the lubrication system.

Replace engine air filter elements (primary and secondary).

Change transmission/hydraulic fluid and transmission filter.

Change hydraulic filter.

Check and replace steering filter element.

Change the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Drain, flush and refill engine cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 9.5 qt (9.0 L).

Inspect all hoses and clamps.

Check level of battery electrolyte.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust fuel injectors.
