Massey Ferguson 1165 Periodic Maintenance

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Engine oil level checking procedure. If the engine oil level is low, add fresh oil.

Check the transmission oil level. If transmission oil is too low, add recommended volume.

Checking air filter. Install a new filter if required.

Check the coolant level in cooling system. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine idle speed, steering unit, service brakes and hand brake. If damages are found, repair it.

Every 100 Hours

Engine oil change. Motor oil type: 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. Engine oil capacity: 8.5 qt (8.0 L). After filling, check the engine oil level with a dipstick.

Change engine oil filter. Engine oil filter part number: 3757038M2. When replace the filter, flushing the housing is necessary. When the filter is replaced, check the oil level. If necessary, add oil.

Check and inflate tires as required.

Check the battery. Clean battery terminals if necessary.

Checking the oil in front axle. Top up as necessary.

Check the hydraulic oil level in system. Fill as required.

Lubricate front and rear axle hub bearings.

Tighten wheel nuts and bolts.

Every 300 hours

Changing transmission/hydraulic oil. Transmission/hydraulic oil type - Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. How much is needed: Manual Shuttle Transmission Oil Capacity - 8.7 gal (33 L) and Hydro and Powershuttle Transmission Oil Capacity - 9.2 gal (35 L). After adding transmission fluid, check the level with a dipstick.

Replacing transmission fluid filter. Transmission fluid filter part number - 3705450M91. After replacing the filter, check the transmission fluid level. If necessary, add it.

Replace filter in hydraulic system. Part number of hydraulic filter - 3705452M1 (Manual Shuttle Transmission) or 3607790M1 (Hydrostatic or Powershuttle Transmission). When installation procedure is complete, check the hydraulic oil level. If required, add it.

Change engine fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: 3702815M1. Check injection pump adjustments.

Change front axle lubricant. Front Axle Oil Type - Permatran. Front Axle Oil Capacity - 6.9 qt (6.5 L).

Clean radiator grill from dirt.

Check fan/alternator belt wear. Replace belt if necessary.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 500 Hours

Check engine primary air filter elements and replace if required. Air filter part number - 3705141M91.

Inspect the engine secondary air filter and change if necessary. Part number - 3705142M91.

Check the coolant in cooling system. If coolant is low, top up.

Check engine idle speed. Adjust engine idle if necessary.

Inspect all hoses and fittings. Tighten as required.

Check and adjust the brake system components.

Replace filter and engine oil. Check and clean the oil system.

Change engine air filters.

Change transmission/hydraulic filter and fluid.

Install a new hydraulic filter and fill with fresh oil.

Change the fuel filter, but drain water from fuel tank first.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Drain, flush and refill engine cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 11.1 qt (10.5 L).

Inspect all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check battery electrolyte level.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Check and adjust injector pump.
