Ford 1620 Maintenance Information

Ford 1620 Maintenance Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily Inspection

Engine oil level checking. If the oil level is too low, add new oil.

Check the hydraulic/transmission fluid level. When hydraulic/transmission oil is low, fill in new oil.

Checking air filter element. Replace if necessary.

Check coolant level in radiator. If the coolant level is too low, fill the system.

Check engine speed, steering, service brakes and hand brake. Repair any damage if required.

Oil And Filter Change

Every 100 Hours

Engine oil change. Recommended oil type: SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, SAE 10W. Oil system capacity: 4.8 qt (4.5 L). Check engine oil level after replacement.

Engine air filter element checking. Replace as required. Engine air filter part number: 84541251.

Check the engine fuel filter and clean if required.

Lubricate the front axle bearing assembly.

Every 200 Hours

Changing engine oil filter. Engine oil filter part number: 84475542. Before replacing, remove dirt from the filter housing. When installation is complete, check the oil level. Add oil if necessary.

Change diesel fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: 87300039 / SBA360720020. Check the operation of injection pump.

Every 300 Hours

Change hydraulic/transmission oil. Recommended hydraulic/transmission fluid type - 134D, ATF Dexron II-D. Oil system capacity: 5.8 gal (22 L). After adding hydraulic/transmission fluid, check the level with a dipstick.

Replacing hydraulic fluid filter. Hydraulic fluid filter part number: 9846407, SBA340500990. After installing a new filter, check the hydraulic/transmission fluid level. If necessary, add it.

Front axle fluid change. Front Axle Oil Type - 134D, Gearlube 80W-90. Front Axle Oil Capacity - 3.2 qt (3 L). Steering Oil Type - 134D, Gearlube LS 80W-90. Steering Oil Capacity - 1.9 qt (1.8 L).

Install a new air cleaner element.

Change transmission/hydraulic oil.

Drain water from fuel tank and replace fuel filter.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Flush the cooling system and add new coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 4.2 qt (4 L).

Check all clamps and hoses.

Check battery charging.

Check engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust injection pump.
