Ford 1720 Maintenance Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily Checking

Engine oil level checking procedure. If after checking the engine oil level is low, top it up.

Check hydraulic/transmission fluid level. When hydraulic/transmission oil is low, fill in new oil.

Check air filter. Replace if required.

Check engine coolant level. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check engine idling, steering, hand brake and service brakes. Repair any malfunctions if necessary.

Oil Change And Filter Replacement

Every 100 Hours

Change engine oil. Recommended engine oil: SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, SAE 10W. Engine oil capacity: 4.8 qt (4.5 L). After filling, check the engine oil level with a dipstick.

Engine air filter element checking. Replace as required. Engine air filter part number: 86512889 / E9NN9601FA.

Check and service the engine fuel filter.

Lubricate front and rear axle hub bearings.

Every 200 Hours

Replace engine oil filter. Oil filter part number: 84475542 / SBA140516170. Flush the filter housing before the filter element replacement procedure. After installing a new filter, check the oil level. Add oil if it is low.

Replace diesel fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: 87300039 / SBA360720020. Check injection pump settings.

Every 300 Hours

Hydraulic/transmission fluid change. Oil type - 134D, SAE 10W-30. How much is required: Transmission/Hydraulic Oil Capacity - 7.1 gal (27 L). Check hydraulic/transmission fluid level after replacement.

Change hydraulic fluid filter. Hydraulic oil filter part number: 4245130, 84228983. When the filter is replaced, check the hydraulic/transmission oil level. Add hydraulic/transmission oil if it is low.

Change front axle lubricant. Front Axle Oil Type - 134D, Gearlube 80W-90. Front Axle Oil Capacity - 5.3 qt (5 L). Steering Oil Type - 134D, Gearlube LS 80W-90. Steering Oil Capacity - 1.9 qt (1.8 L).

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Flush the cooling system and add new coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 5.9 qt (5.6 L).

Check all hoses and clamps.

Check battery charge.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Check and adjust fuel injectors.
