Ford 4100 Periodic Maintenance

Every Ten Hours or Daily Inspection

Check motor oil level. If after checking the engine oil level is low, top it up.

Transmission/hydraulic fluid level checking. When transmission/hydraulic oil is low, fill in new oil.

Checking primary and secondary air filters. Replace with a new one if necessary.

Check coolant level in radiator. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check idle engine speed, steering unit, service brakes and parking brake. Repair any damage if required.

Oil And Filter Change

Every 300 Hours

Inspect engine air filters. Clean as required.

Change engine oil. Recommended oil type - SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, SAE 10W. Engine oil capacity: 7 qt (6.6 L). After completing the filling procedure, check motor oil level.

Engine oil filter replacement. Oil filter part number: 86546614 or E8NN6714AA. Flush the filter housing before the filter element replacement procedure. After installing a new filter, check the oil level. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Check and service the fuel filter element.

Lubricate the front axle bearing assembly.

Every 600 Hours

Replacing air filter elements. Air filter part number - 84493216 or 86525008, E9NN9B618AA or D6NN9601B.

Change steering oil. Steering oil type - 134D, Gearlube LS 80W-90. How much to fill: Steering Oil Capacity - 2 qt (1.9 L). Check steering oil level after replacement.

Replace filter in steering system. Power steering filter part number: EDPN3K758A. After installing a new filter, check the steering oil. If necessary, add it.

Every 1200 Hours

Change engine fuel filter. Fuel filter part number - 84541248 or E6NNR500DA. Check the correct operation of diesel fuel pump.

Change transmission oil. Transmission oil type - 134D, SAE 10W-30. How much to fill: Transmission Oil Capacity - 3.5 gal (13.2 L). Check transmission oil level after replacement.

Change hydraulic fluid. Hydraulic Oil Type - 134D, SAE 10W-30. Hydraulic Oil Capacity - 8.5 gal (32.2 L). Add hydraulic fluid if the level is low.

Replace filter in hydraulic system. Hydraulic filter part number: 84518613 or D6NNB486A. After installing a new filter, check the hydraulic oil. If necessary, add it.

Change engine oil and filter. Service lubrication system components.

Replace primary/secondary air filter elements.

Change transmission fluid.

Install a new hydraulic filter and pour in fresh hydraulic fluid.

Replace power steering filter element.

Change steering oil.

Drain water from fuel tank and change fuel filter.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Flush the cooling system and add fresh coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 12 qt (11.3 L).

Inspect all hoses and clamps.

Check level of battery electrolyte.

Check engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust diesel fuel pump.
