Ford 4600 Maintenance Data

Ford 4600 Periodic Maintenance

Every 10 Hours or Daily Checking

Engine oil level checking procedure. If the engine oil level is low, fill in fresh oil.

Transmission/hydraulic fluid level checking procedure. If the transmission/hydraulic fluid is too low, add it.

Checking air filters. Install new filter elements if necessary.

Check engine coolant level. If the coolant level is too low, fill the system.

Check idle engine speed, steering unit, parking brake and service brakes. If you found a problem, fix it.

Oil Change And Filter Replacement

Every 300 Hours

Check engine primary and secondary air filters. Service if necessary.

Inspect and clean cab air filter.

Check engine fuel filter and clean if necessary.

Change engine oil. Recommended oil - SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, SAE 10W. How much to change: Engine Oil Capacity - 7 qt (6.6 L). Add oil to the upper mark on the dipstick.

Changing engine oil filter. Engine oil filter part number: 86546614 or E8NN6714AA. When replace the filter, flushing the housing is necessary. After installing a new filter, check the oil level. If required, add it.

Lubricate front and rear axle hub bearings.

Every 600 Hours

Change steering fluid. Recommended steering fluid type - 134D, Gearlube LS 80W-90. How much to change: Steering Oil Capacity - 2 qt (1.9 L). After installing a new filter, check that the steering oil level is correct.

Replace power steering filter. Steering filter part number: EDPN3K758A.

Replacing air filter elements. Air filter element part number: 84493216 or 86525008, E9NN9B618AA or D6NN9601B.

Every 1200 Hours

Change transmission oil. Recommended transmission oil type - 134D, SAE 10W-30. How much to change: Transmission Oil Capacity - 3.5 gal (13.2 L). After installing a new filter, check that the transmission oil level is correct.

Change hydraulic fluid. Recommended hydraulic fluid type - 134D, SAE 10W-30. Hydraulic Oil Capacity - 8.5 gal (32.2 L). After installing a new filter, check that the hydraulic oil level is correct.

Replace hydraulic fluid filter. Hydraulic filter part number: 84518613 or D6NNB486A. Check the hydraulic fluid level after installing a new filter. Add fluid if necessary.

Replace engine fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: 84535312 or EDPN9N074AA. Check the operation of fuel injection pump.

Replace cab air filter. Cab air filter part number: D8NN94000N20CA.

Change engine oil and filter. Check and clean the oil system.

Change primary/secondary air filter elements.

Change transmission fluid.

Replace hydraulic filter and fill the hydraulic system with fresh oil.

Change steering oil.

Replace power steering filter.

Change the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Drain, flush and refill cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 12 qt (11.3 L).

Check all clamps and hoses.

Check battery charge.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust injection pump.
