Ford 4130 Periodic Maintenance

Every Ten Hours or Daily Inspection

Engine oil level checking procedure. If the oil level is too low, fill in new oil.

Check the hydraulic/transmission fluid level. If the hydraulic/transmission fluid is too low, fill the required volume.

Engine air filters checking. Replace with a new one if necessary.

Check coolant level in radiator. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine idling, steering, service brakes and parking brake. Repair any malfunctions if necessary.

Oil Change And Filter Replacement

Every 300 Hours

Change engine oil. Engine oil type - SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, SAE 10W. How much to pour: Engine Oil Capacity - 7 qt (6.6 L). Check motor oil level after changing.

Engine oil filter changing. Engine oil filter part number - 84259320 or C9NN6714A. Flush the filter housing before the filter element replacement procedure. Check the oil level after installing a new filter. If required, add it.

Check and clean the fuel filter.

Inspect engine primary/secondary air filter elements. Service as required.

Lubricate the front axle bearing assembly.

Every 600 Hours

Changing air filter elements. Air filter element part number: 83908365 or E9NN9B618AA, 83959773 or D6NN9R500B.

Transmission fluid filter replacement. Transmission filter part number - 84263773. When installation is complete, check the transmission fluid level. Add transmission oil if it is low.

Install a new engine coolant filter. Coolant filter part number: E8NN8A424BB.

Every 1200 Hours

Change transmission oil. Recommended fluid type: 134D, SAE 10W-40. Transmission system capacity: 3.2 gal (12 L) 8-Speed (8x2), 2.5 gal (9.5 L) 8-Speed (8x8). After installing a new filter, check that the transmission fluid level is correct.

Change hydraulic oil. Recommended fluid type: 134D, SAE 10W-40. Hydraulic oil capacity: 8.5 gal (32.2 L).

Hydraulic filter element replacement. Part number of hydraulic filter element - 84401812 or D8NNB486EA. When installation is complete, check the hydraulic fluid level. Add oil if necessary.

Replace fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: 84535312 or EDPN9N074AA. Check diesel fuel pump performance.

Change front axle fluid. Front Axle Oil Type - 134D, SAE 10W-40. Front Axle Oil Capacity - 5.8 qt (5.5 L).

Replace engine coolant filter.

Drain water from fuel tank and change fuel filter.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Drain, flush and refill engine cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 11.1 qt (10.6 L).

Check all clamps and hoses.

Check level of battery electrolyte.

Check engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust diesel injection pump.
